State 23 fencing project begins

A fencing project along State 23 from State 67 to State 32 in Sheboygan County will begin this week, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation northeast region office.

The project will also add lighting to the County Road M intersection. The $650,000 project is expected to be complete by mid-September of this year. Highway Landscapers, Inc., of Little Chute, is the prime contractor.

The intent of the project is to improve safety by clearly delineating the State 23 roadway right of way with fencing and by adding lighting to the County M intersection.

All traffic lanes will remain open to traffic but drivers will encounter intermittent shoulder closures.

Motorists are reminded to use caution and remain alert when driving through this or any work zone.
