Raiders' late spurt downs Resorters

KIEL – The Kiel Raiders tallied four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to topple the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters, 8-5, in a Big East Conference baseball game here Friday evening.

The loss dropped the Resorters’ BEC mark to 1-3 (1-3 overall). Kiel upped its league record to 4-1 (4-5 overall).

Tyler Schultz and Stephan Clemens led the Elkhart attack with two hits each. Clemens, Brennen Cain and Max Kossman had one RBI each. Clemens scored a teamhigh two runs.

Jon Meyer paced the Raiders in hits with two, including a home run.

Nick Walsh notched the win – allowing three runs (all earned) on six hits with one walk and seven strikeouts in six frames.

Cain was the losing pitcher. He went six innings and allowed eight runs but only three earned on seven hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
