GEORGE E. LANGKABEL

George E. Langkabel, 78, of Plymouth, WI and Mesa, AZpassed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, NE of an apparent heart aneurysm.

He was born on April 21, 1938 in Plymouth, WI, son of the late Emil and Mabel (Hogue) Langkabel.

He attended St. John Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1956.

George served in the United States Army from October 1956 - September 1959.

On August 6, 1960 he married Ellie Eslinger at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The couple has resided in Plymouth since their marriage. They enjoyed winters in Arizona for over 20 years.

George was employed for Borden Food Company several years, and then worked at Plastics Engineering Company in Sheboygan, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and Mountain View Lutheran Church in Apache Junction, AZ.

George loved: Arizona, playing bingo, card and dice games, camping, walking in the woods, Germany, preparing authentic fish boils, travel, friends, and above all God and family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Ellie of Mesa, AZ; three children: Laurie Tonn of Waukesha, (Fiance Richard Davis), Lesa (Bob) Bartel of Sheboygan Falls, and Michael (Paula) Langkabel of Random Lake; seven grandchildren: Erin Tonn of Waukesha, Jerad Tonn of Milwaukee, Marissa Bartel of Fond du Lac, Nicole Bartel of Sheboygan Falls, Mia Bartel of Sheboygan Falls, Robyn Wenzel of Random Lake and Marie (Bill) Brown of North Fond du Lac; five great grandchildren: Jayden, Leonidas, LillyAnn, Scott and Avalin; one brother: Roland (Maxine) Langkabel of Arizona; one sister: Dorothy (Jerry) Meininger of Plymouth; two sistersin law: Pat Langkabel of Kentucky and Carol Langkabel of Plymouth.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law: Daryl Tonn; one grandson: Scott Wenzel; six brothers: Harold (Margaret), Norman, Raymond (Janet, Darlene, Bea), Herbert, Donald and Edward.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 5 p.m. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. John Schultz, Pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth officiated.

Visitation was held on Monday afternoon, June 20 at the Suchon Funeral Home from 2 p.m.. until time of services.

The Plymouth World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct ed military rites at the funeral home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in George’s name.
