PHS golfers Academic All-State

The Plymouth varsity boys golf team earned 2016 Team Academic All-State Honorable Mention from the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW).

All-state academic honors are established to recognize high school golf teams with the highest cumulative “team” grade-point averages (team is defined as the five designated golfers on the roster for 2016 regional tournament play).

Schools with at least a 3.25 team GPA received honorable-mention status. The PHS team includes juniors Jake Willeford, Cole Bogenschuetz and Alex Shutter and sophomores Cade Knaus and Josh Klister.

The three teams with the highest cumulative team GPA in each division (D-1, D-2 and D-3) earned gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Knaus, Willeford and Bogenschuetz also earned individual Academic All-State honors from the GCAW for the 2016 season. Honorees must have met the following criteria: a cumulative 3.25 GPA, participation in at least 75 percent of his team’s varsity matches and be at least a sophomore in high school.

Sheboygan North and Sheboygan Falls received Team Academic All- State Honorable Mention in D-1 and D-2, respectively.
