MARY ANN SOMMERSBERGER

Mary Ann Sommersberger, 83, of Sheboygan, WI passed away late Monday evening July 25, 2016 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Mary Ann was born on March 17, 1933 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Stalter) Folz.

She attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School and graduated from Central High School in Sheboygan in 1950. On September 30, 1950 she married Richard Sommersberger at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan, WI. Richard preceded her in death on December 25, 2010.

Mary Ann was employed at H.C. Prange Company in the billing department as a secretary for 10 years and also was manager of Briarwood Cottages in Plymouth for many years.

Mary Ann and Dick were loving and caring foster parents to many, many children over the years.

Mary Ann enjoyed traveling, spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her seven children: Richard (Tricia) Sommersberger Jr. of Sheboygan, Diane (Scott) Stubbe of Plymouth, Michael (Shirlee) Sommersberger of Sheboygan, Tamie (Wayne) Emmer of Sheboygan, Sandy (Bill) Zum- Mallen of Hartland, WI, Tina Cook (her fiance: Bill Van Driest) of Sheboygan and Todd (Amy) Sommersberger of Sheboygan; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Richard; one brother: Donald; and one sister: LaVerne.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday morning July 30, 2016 at 11:30 a.m.. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Dennis Van Beek will officiate.

Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 30 until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mary Ann’s name.
