Woodlake Inn expansion to include multi-bedroom units, common spaces

Kohler Co. this week announced expansion plans for Destination Kohler’s boutique hotel, Inn on Woodlake.

The three-diamond property, overlooking the serene Wood Lake in the Village of Kohler, will undergo an expansion and renovation through late 2016 and 2017, adding multi-bedroom units and common spaces.

The Inn on Woodlake will remain open during the expansion and renovations. A growing trend is a desire for families and friends – such as golf buddies trips – to stay in a multi-room space to enhance their overall guest experience.

“We are excited to improve and expand Destination Kohler’s hospitality experiences,” said Christine Loose, Group Director Lodging for Destination Kohler. "The addition of the Inn on Woodlake multi-bedroom units will improve and elevate our offering to guests.”

The Inn on Woodlake expansion will begin in the fall of 2016 and add a combination of 4-bedroom and 2-bedroom units along with additional single rooms. Each multi-bedroom unit will have a common living room and space where guests can enjoy each other’s company after a day of activities.

In addition, the main lobby and atrium will be expanded to provide more common space for travelers to enjoy.

“When you’re traveling with friends and families, you want to spend as much time together as possible,” said Shawn Boeldt, Manager of Inn on Woodlake.

“We have seen a growing trend for the desire for more common spaces, so we are excited to have this offering available at the Inn on Woodlake. We anticipate groups of golfers, travelers and families very much enjoying this lodging option.”

Plans have been submitted to the Village of Kohler planning commission for review with the Village Board expected to vote on the proposal in early August. Upon approval, a groundbreaking will follow shortly after.

The carefully planned expansion and renovations at the Inn on Woodlake are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

From 2009-2012, The American Club hotel underwent a multi-phase renovation to its rooms, common areas and lobby and the Carriage House experienced a renovation and newly created entrance in 2013.

Kohler Waters Spa, Cucina Italian Restaurant, Sports Core Health & Racquet Club and the Horse & Plow have also experienced property enhancements over the past three years.
