How to prevent falling class scheduled

The Family Caregivers Coalition of Sheboygan County will be presenting a Caregivers Connect educational program titled, “Preventing Falls” at the Sheboygan County Aging & Disability Resource Center in Sheboygan Falls Thursday, Aug. 18, from 1-2:30 p.m.

The program presenter will be Annette Selk, RN at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sheboygan County.

Falls are the No. 1 cause of death by accident and a leading factor contributing to nursing home placements for older adults.

The program will discuss evidence based programs that will help prevent falls for loved ones.

Those in attendance will also learn some simple tips to increase safety.

The event is free and open to those who are family and professional caregivers and anyone interested in learning more about the topic.

Pre-registration is requested by calling the Sheboygan County Aging & Disability Resource Center at 467-4100.

Caregivers Connect provides an opportunity for caregivers to meet in an informal, social environment to learn practical tips on a variety of topics that will assist with the physical, emotional, financial and spiritual challenges of family caregiving.

Caregivers Connect is sponsored by the Family Caregivers Coalition in Sheboygan County.

The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Sheboygan County is located at 650 Forest Ave. in Sheboygan Falls.
