DONALD J. DIEDRICH

Donald “Donny/Don/Deke” J. Diedrich, 75 of Plymouth, WI, went to his heavenly home Sunday morning August 7, 2016 surrounded by his wife and loving family at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls after suffering a stroke.

He was born on May 22, 1941 in

Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Raymond and Virginia (Konrad)Diedrich.

Don attended St. Mary’s Parochial School and graduated from Random Lake High School.

He served in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Wasp.

On October 15, 1966 he married Dorothy Bichler at Holy Cross Catholic Church. This year they were going to celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Donny worked at Bolen’s Company in Port Washington, WI, making lawn equipment for 35 years until the plant closed its doors. He then began working at Sargento Foods in Plymouth. Don enjoyed working there and made a lot of friends. After retirement, he fondly enjoyed his new workweeks of “Six Saturdays and a Sunday”.

He found time to travel with his wife and see the sights. His hobbies include gardening and you could often find him working on his lawn. He was generous, spending his spare time helping familyand friends. He loved dogs and would spoil his granddogs. The thing he treasured the most was spending time with his grandkids.

Don is survived by his loving wife: Dorothy “Dottie” of Plymouth; One son: David Diedrich of Portland, OR; Two Daughters: Ann (Tom) Hering of Plymouth and Carla (Mike) Reed of Rio, WI; Five grandchildren: Joel and Andrew Diedrich, Kalei and Sawyer Hering and Emily Reed; Six Brothers and Sisters: Dorothy (Jim) Poulle of Port Washington, Mary (George) Graff of Rock Hill, SC, Sharon (Roger) Karrels of Port Washington, Richard (Nancy) Diedrich of Plymouth, Margaret Diedrich of Mesa, AZ and Michael Diedrich of Sheboygan; Brothers and sister-inlaw: Eugene (Hermina) Bichler, Winnie Bichler, Anthony (Sheri) Bichler, David (Jeanne) Bichler, Dennis (Debby) Bichler and Michael Bichler. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Robert, Raymond and Jim; One Granddaughter; Micara Reed; and Brothers and sisters-in-law: Joseph (Arlene), Vincent, Jerome, Caroline, Daniel, and Rosemary Bichler, and Joanne (Michael) Freden.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday evening, August 11, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dennis Van Beek will officiate.

Cremation has taken place and inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Random Lake, WI.

Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, August. 11 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.

The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites at the Church following the services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Don’s name.
