24th Annual Cheesehead Chase a big hit


THE 24TH ANNUAL Cheesehead Chase, held July 9 in Plymouth, drew about 575 participants from all ages. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley THE 24TH ANNUAL Cheesehead Chase, held July 9 in Plymouth, drew about 575 participants from all ages. – Review photo by Greg Ceilley PLYMOUTH – The 24th Annual Cheesehead Chase here July 9 raised approximately $8,000 to benefit the Safe Harbor Domestic Abuse Shelter for Sheboygan County and the Plymouth Professional Business Women’s scholarship program.

The PPBW hosted the event which included a fivemile run, two-mile run/walk, and a Cheese Curd Run for ages 5 and under which was one-block long. The Cheesehead Chase had about 575 participants.

The PPBW gave special thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors who helped make the Cheesehead Chase a success.

Abby Ausloos, a 2008 Plymouth High School graduate, was the overall female champion in the five-male race. Ausloos, 26, was clocked in 34 minutes, 4 seconds. She ran cross country and track at PHS.

The top male runner in the five-mile event was 16-year-old Jack Kral of Kohler with a time of 28:20.

The overall male winner was Sheboygan’s Garret Klompenhouwer, 21, in 12:16.
