Painting event expands

Artists are invited to participate in a week-long plein air (outdoor painting) event and competition presented by the Plymouth Arts Center.

This year, the 7th annual, “Paint the Towns, en Plein Air” event is being coordinated by artist Dan Rizzi of Plymouth. New this year are: expanded painting boundaries in Plymouth, out in the country; painting in Historic Elkhart Lake at the Farmer’s Market and more; and painting on the Historic Wade House Grounds in Greenbush at the Civil War Reenactment and more.

The painting days are: Thursday, Sept. 22 through Wednesday, Sept. 28 with a public reception and silent auction on Friday, September 30 from 6 to 9 p.m.

The first 50 artists to register will be accepted. Fees are $50 per person if registration is postmarked by Sept. 10, 2016 which entitles artist to participate in the full event and all areas within the painting boundaries.

The registration fee after September 10 is $60. Pre-registration by September 10 is highly encouraged by visiting the PAC website or the Plymouth Arts Center, 520 E. Mill Street, Downtown Plymouth.
