Register early and save $10 on the following classes, which will meet at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave., unless otherwise indicated:

• Volleyball League: This fun, co-ed opportunity is for everyone from high school juniors through adults. Put together a team and contact the Community Ed & Rec office for registration. This 6-week season will have a round-robin format. Games will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 14 to Oct. 19 in the PHS gym; fee is $50/ team until Sept. 2, then $60.

• For the Locavores: Preserving the Harvest: A locavore is a person whose diet consists primarily of locally grown food. Learn many ways to preserve the bounty to keep your locavore habits alive and well when the cold winds blow. Though the class will cover water bath canning, it will focus more on new twists to preserving foods and how to creatively use preserved foods for convenience and health for the busy family. Class will meet with district nutrition & wellness coordinator Carrie Caselton Lowe from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12; fee is $12 until Sept. 2, then $22.

• Tumbling/Gymnastics: Children ages 3 and up can experience floor work, tumble track, balance beam and parallel bars under the guidance of Jamie Wright of the YMCA. Classes will meet Friday evenings (times depend on level) from Sept. 9 to Nov. 11 (except Sept. 30 and Nov. 4) at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle; fee is $40 until Aug. 26, then $50.
