Local legion wins state awards



The Plymouth Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post was recently recognized for achievements advancing the purpose of the American Legion at the State Legion convention held in Middleton. Post member DuWayne Wieck (center, above) receives the State American Legion County Commander of the year award for the Sheboygan County Legion achieving 100 percent membership. Presenting his award is American Legion National Commander Dale Barnett (left) and State Commander Dale Oatman (right). Post Commander Gene Blindauer (center, below) receives the National American Legion Award of Excellence. The award is based upon 100 percent membership along with community service and assistance to veteran programs. The post has received this prestigious for three consecutive years.
