Head Start launches home-based program

Sheboygan County Head Start has been awarded an Early Head Start grant. Sheboygan County Head Start has been servicing income-eligible families since 1965 in Sheboygan County.

As of Sept. 1, Early Head Start will be accepting applications for income-eligible families for a home-based program. Early Head Start accepts children aged 0-3 years and expect- ant mothers. This would include a weekly visit from a qualified EHS home visitor and two socializations for all families twice a month in a school setting.

Head Start is a free preschool and family development program for 3-5 year old children.

Currently Head Start has a variety of options for families: half-day for 3K and full-day programming for 4K children (in collaboration with local school districts).

When applying, income of the family must be verified and the child’s original birth certificate and record of their immunizations will be needed to process the application.

If interested, call Brenda Zastrow at 920-458-1154 or visit the Head Start main office at 4350 Tower Dr., Sheboygan, to apply.
