Generations Prom Night Saturday

Generations: An Intergenerational Center is holding its second annual Prom event, this year with a 1950’s theme. Festivities will be Saturday, Sept. 17, from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight.

Located at 1500 Douglas Dr., Plymouth, the Generations building is home to numerous organizations, including the Plymouth Adult Community Center, the Family Resource Center, child education and care organizations Head Start and Growing Generations, Safe Harbor, Lutheran Social Services and the New Life Community Church. This public event is the major fund-raising event of the Plymouth Intergenerational Coalition, which owns the building.

Attendees of the event are encouraged to wear ‘50s attire but it’s not required. There will be live and silent auctions during the evening. The popular band the Eldorados will be providing live music with lots of favorites from decades past and the dance floor will accommodate lots of dancing.

Prom King and Queen nominees will be introduced and the final contestants will be announced.

Delicious hors d ’oeuvres prepared by chef Dave Hansmann of Pic-Adeli will be available throughout the evening along with beer and wine.

Joann Van Horn Wieland, executive director of Generations, said, “We are excited to welcome those who love to dress up, have fun and support Generations, a real jewel in Sheboygan County. We hope to see you on Sept. 17.”

The mission of the Plymouth Intergenerational Coalition is to maintain and promote opportunities that build and honor relationships between generations through positive social and educational experiences.
