Plymouth annual meeting set

Residents of the Plymouth School District are encouraged to attend the upcoming annual meeting to learn more about district educational programs, vision and goals for the coming year.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 in the amphitheater at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave. The regular monthly Board of Education meeting will follow.

Electors - district residents ages 18 and up - will vote to recommend a 2016-17 tax levy and set salaries for Board of Education members, among other business. The Board of Education likely will take final action on the tax levy at its Oct. 18 meeting.

While some numbers are still being finalized, the official budget for publication shows a deficit of about $58,000. General fund revenues are up about 2 percent and expenditures about 3.6 percent, but the total levy is expected to drop about 0.5 percent.

The annual meeting will be aired live on TV Channel 14 and will be available for viewing later on In addition, a summary of the meeting will be posted on the district web site.
