Huskies stretch winning streak to six

NEW HOLSTEIN – Noah Ruh and Jacob Starnitcky scored one goal each to give the New Holstein/ Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Huskies a 2-0 boys soccer win over Little Chute here Monday night.

The nonconference win extended the Huskies’ winning streak to six and improved their record to 7-3. The Mustangs fell to 2-5.

Ruh chipped the ball over goalie Carson Mara into the net for the first goal at the 35:47 mark after Mara had come out.

NH/EL-G took a 2-0 halftime lead on Starnitcky’s goal at 39:22. Starnitcky scored after Ruh’s shot was mishandled by Mara.

“Everyone on the team played very well and really did a pretty good job moving the ball around to one another,” said Husky cohead coach Steve Conrad.

Mara made 14 saves and NH/EL goalkeeper Jordan Bahr had one.
