MARY KAUFMAN

Mary “Dixie” Kaufman, age 63 of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice home.

Mary was born April 20, 1953 in Plymouth, WI, daughter of the late Lester and Betty (Standish) Brandes.

Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends around the bonfire on weekend and holiday evenings. She loved making jewelry, watching the Packers, her rock garden, birds, and her eight cats (she always called them her kids). Her appreciation for everything Irish was known by all. Her passion for dancing and celebrating was evident at every birthday and holiday. Mary was fascinated with Vaseline (green) glass of which she has a beautiful collection. St. Patrick’s Day was her favorite day of the year.

She was quick to volunteer to bring special dishes to the many impromptu family gatherings, especially “ma’s date bars”. She loved to give and she always made sure that her nieces and nephews had unique/well thought out gifts. We will miss her for her smile and her passion for life. She would want everyone to “dance as if no one were watching” and live everyday as if it were your last.

She is survived by her loving husband: Rick “Gizzmo” Kaufman; brothers-in-law: Kevin (Kim) Kaufman and Brian (Sheila) Kaufman; nephews: Elliot and Nathan; nieces: Taylor, Kaitlyn and Kristi, all of whom were loved deeply by her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law: Lloyd and Dorothy (Marek) Kaufman.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held in the coming weeks.

The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family. For online condolences, please visit www.suchonfh.com.

Mary’s family thanks the wonderful nurses and volunteers at Sharon S. Richardson Community

Hospice for the love and care they showed to Mary and her family during this time.

We are all thankful that she gained her angel wings peacefully. So, until we meet again Mary, may God Bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand.
