PHS ‘act-letes’ plan fall comedy show

The Plymouth High School Jolly Pranksters comedy team - the only student improv group in the area - will present a show for the public this fall.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 in the PHS Amphitheatre, 125 Highland Ave. In lieu of admission, the team will accept cash donations for the Livingston Parish School District in Louisiana, which was devastated by flooding last month.

The show will feature improvisational games played by the team members, or "act-letes," who spontaneously create comedic scenes and skits.

This is the first fall show the team has presented. Veteran members wanted to show potential players what they do, said Janet DeJean Newton, team advisor. New players have until the end of October to decide if they would like to register to be part of the Milwaukee ComedySportz High School League and a member of the PHS Jolly Pranksters.

Returning players include:

Seniors:Elisabeth Balistrerri, Tannor Gonzalez, Josh Hafemann, Delaney Scudella; Juniors:Paul Hammes, Justin Schmitz, Madilyn Straub, Quinn Zwick; Sophomores:Mitch Arnold, Adam Dwyer, Ana Hyer, Sydney Tackes, Alex Turicik

This is the 11th year the team has competed in the ComedySportz High School League. PHS won the championship in 2014 and advanced to the championship round in 2015 and 2016.
