Balanced scoring keys Tigers’ rout in BEC play

The Tigers had eight players score one goal each. Bryce Pedrin, Blake Pedrin, Jack Baldwin, Jordan Peterson, Will Rautmann, Peter Grimm, Mitch- ell McDaniel and Travis Eilers tallied one each. Grimm had a team-high two assists and Baldwin and Pedrin, one each.

The Tigers improved to 4-1-1 in Big East Conference play (5- 4-1 overall).

“Overall, we played well again. Having eight different guys score today is always a great thing and means we are getting better at distributing the ball,” said Tiger head coach Bob Peterson.

Our defense played really well and cut off any threats constantly.”

Tiger goalies Austin Bender and Seth Morse made two and three saves, respectively.

Jeremy Garside scored the Rockets’ goal.

XAVIER INVITE

The Tigers competed in the Appleton Xavier Invitational Friday and Saturday and finished 0-3 against strong teams. HG lost to Eau Claire North, 3-1; Nicolet, 5-0; and Xavier, 2-0.

Xavier won the seven-team tournament in which each squad played three games. The team with the best record was declared the champion, with tiebreakers used if necessary.

Grimm scored the Tigers’ goal versus Eau Claire. Bender made four saves in the match. Bender had 12 saves in the Nicolet and Xavier matches.
