West Bend East won the subsectional with 20 points. PHS finished sixth with six.

The Panthers won three matches, all in the first round. The winners were Amanda Krueger at No. 2 singles, Kayla Prahl and Kaylee Woelfel at No. 2 doubles, and Ellie Potrykus and Savannah Wiese at No. 3 doubles.

Semifinalists in flight 1 singles and doubles, and finalists in flights 2-4 singles and doubles qualify for the sectional.

“The girls competed very well. I was very pleased with their effort. The girls played well and weren’t disappointed,” said Panther head coach Scott Milslagle.

PHS had lower seeds in the flights because its didn’t face very many D-1 teams during the regular season and thus had to play higher seeds in the first round.

“Cassandra Nicholson and Scarlet Simenz [No. 1 doubles] played their best match of the season but were up against a very powerful Beaver Dam duo and lost 3-6, 3-6 but played far better than their score would indicate,” said Milslagle.

“Ashley Batzner played against a girl who beat her two weeks ago in the Hartford/Slinger Invitational 0-6, 2-6 and took her to three sets – losing in the third set 4-6 after winning the second set 6-2 and losing the first 6-7 in a tiebreaker.”

Wiese and Potrykus finished their No. 3 doubles match versus Kohler Tuesday and won in three sets, including 7-5 in the deciding third one. The match was suspended uring a dual meet Sept. 27. The win gives the PHS duo a final 9-0 record in Easter Wisconsin Conference play.
