JESS DAN LeMAHIEU

Jess Dan LeMahieu (75) passed away suddenly at home with his wife at his side on the evening of October 2nd, 2016 in Apache Junction, AZ.

He married Anette (Hoffmann) at Redeemer Lutheran Church on October 20, 1962. While they lived in the Plymouth area their entire married life, they traveled to 49 of the 50 states, 5 European countries, Canada, Mexico and a Caribbean cruise. They also enjoyed winters in AZ since 2003 and moved fulltime to Apache Junction in October 2015.

After working a summer at Stokley Canning Co., he started at the Kohler Co in the fall of 1959.

In 1966, he started at Donahue & Associates in the survey department. In 1970, he began his career with Aero-Metric Engineering, an aerial mapping company. Jess initiated and led the company’s computer operations department and assumed additional roles in project estimating, aerial mapping sales, and contract administration. Jess shared in Aero- Metric ownership and retired in 2003 after 38 years yet continued to work part time for 3 years as a contract employee.

Faith and family were very important to Jess. As a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1963, Jess became a charter member when it re-charted in 1970 and went on to serve on the church council and other committees for many years.

Jess and Anette enjoyed many years of making memories with their children and grandchildren enjoying camping and traveling to them to share their special moments and milestones. He was immensely proud of his son and daughter, his five grandsons, and the family’s cherished pets, Blackie, Angel, Nala, and Meggie.

Certainly known for his love of family, Jess also had many interests and participated in many activities, one of which was cheering for his beloved Packers. He was a lifelong steadfast Packer fan and eventual owner. Additionally, Jess could fix anything! He and Anette enjoyed landscaping and remodeling their homes. He was a major contributor to the design of their dream home in the country and enjoyed the “view” overlooking Plymouth. Cooking, “frying out” and making fancy hors’├▓doeuvres were Jess’s forte. He also had this natural ability to crack jokes, even with complete strangers which would elicit a chuckle and warm response 100% of the time. Jess loved deeply, was much loved and will be missed by many. Jess was also an organ donor and two others will now benefit from his perfect eyesight.
