Middle-school basketball offered

Plymouth-area boys in grades 7-8 are invited to participate in extracurricular basketball.

Middle-school extracurriculars, which are open to all area students whether they attend public or parochial school or are home-schooled, are coordinated by Plymouth School District Community Education and Recreation. The cost is $20 per sport.

The eighth-grade team is coached by Justin Lloyd. The initial meeting will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the gym at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle, Plymouth.

The seventh-grade team is coached by Brad Mey. Interested players should attend an initial meeting at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in Riverview Room 317.

Practices begin Oct. 24, with the grades alternating practice times of 2:45-4:15 p.m. and 4:15- 5:45 p.m.

The season consists of 10 conference games primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Nov. 3 and ending Dec. 15. Each grade level has an A and B team, which differ by skill level. B games begin at 3:45 p.m. and A games begin at 4:45 p.m.
