Shaw ignites Resorters to rout in season finale

KESHENA – Senior quarterback Jared Shaw ended an outstanding football career for Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah with 213 yards rushing and seven touchdowns to power the Resorters to a 56-6 thrashing of Menominee Indian here Saturday afternoon.

The Great 8 Conference eighthman game was the season finale for both teams. Elkhart, a South Division squad, finished 5-4 overall. The Eagles, a North Division team, posted a 4-5 record.

Shaw ran for six TDs, including a long one of 53 yards, and caught a 64-yard scoring pass from Cody Behnke.

The Resorters’ defense surrendered only 162 yards in total offense and forced five turnovers. Defensive back Hunter Radloff had an interception for Elkhart.

“A great team win. As a group we were very determined to play a great game. It was great effort across the board and everyone got involved,” said Resorter head coach Josh Bardon.

“It’s always great to end the season on a good note. I’d like to thank the seniors for there leadership and dedication over the years.”
