Music teachers demonstrate skills

The University of Wisconsin- Sheboygan Music Department will host the annual C.H.I.M.E. concert on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 7pm in the Fine Arts Theatre. A Concert Hour Involving Music Educators (CHIME) features five local music educators who will step away from the baton to perform for their students and the community.

The five educators performing include:

Tricia Marton (private piano studio instructor)

Paul Sucherman (Jazz Ensemble Director for both UW-Sheboygan and UW-Manitowoc)

Christy Talbott (music professor at UW-Sheboygan)

Dan VanderLInden (voice teacher and music instructor at UW-Sheboygan)

Among the musical selections are Bernstein’s set of five children’s songs including “I Hate Music” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The concert provides a unique opportunity for students to see their teachers perform as well as enjoy a fun evening with their family.

Admission is free, with donations welcome at the door. UWSheboygan is located at One University Drive in Sheboygan. Over 800 students are enrolled at the campus, which provides a quality University of Wisconsin education with the lowest tuition in the UW System.
