Panthers breeze to dual win over Port

PORT WASHINGTON – Plymouth won 10 of the 12 events as it cruised to a 121-33 win over host Port Washington in a nonconference girls swimming and diving dual meet Thursday night.

The Panthers, who have won seven straight duals, upped their dual record to 8-1.

Junior Katy Coley and sophomore Keeley Kuru were doublewinners for PHS. Coley captured the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 29.65 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:01.14. Kuru took first in the 200 and 500 freestyle races with times of 2:14.74 and 5:50.62, respectively.

Kuru and Coley also swam on two winning relays each – Kuru in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle, and Coley in the 200 medley and 200 freestyle.

“Our swimmers are tired from practicing hard, so there were not many good times. We still had more than enough horsepower to defeat Port Washington,” said Panther head coach Dave Coley.

PHS won the junior varsity meet, 156-3.
