Plymouth Education Foundation raises $16,000 for school district

Plymouth Education Foundation’s first-time benefit event, Party With A Purpose, held Nov. 4 at the Wade House Visitor Center, was a significant success raising over $102,000 to enhance the educational experience for students enrolled in the Plymouth School District.

Over 200 attendees showed support for public education and sustaining a tradition of providing a high quality education in Plymouth.

The PEP Rally theme along with the energy and excitement of the attendees coming together to celebrate PHS 50th Anniversary to honor the past and build for the future, the next 50 years, contributed to the generous donations made that evening that will make a difference for all students and the future of our community.

Over $16,000 was raised during the Foundation’s Party With A Purpose’s live auction, RAISE YOUR PAW, and will go directly to help support the new Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math – STEAM – integrated curriculum and innovative lab at Riverview Middle School.

The net proceeds of this event will be used to expand the Foundation’s mission of enhancing the educational experience for students in all five district schools including Plymouth High School, Riverview Middle School, Fairview Elementary School, Horizon Elementary School and Parkview Elementary School.

The Foundation provides funding for grants to enhance academic enrichment, extracurricular activities, professional development and connecting students with their futures and the community.

It also provides funds for capital projects that prepare students for 21st century learning as well as scholarships for higher education to two year technical schools and four year colleges/universities.

The Foundation will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2018 and your support will allow it to continue its mission to make a difference in our schools and our community.

Donations to the Plymouth Education Foundation, which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, provides a reliable source of revenue separate from restricted public funding to keep pace with advances in technology, maintain a rigorous curriculum, and provide modern learning environments that prepare students for future careers.

The Foundation’s 16 person board of directors and its dedicated volunteers will continue to work hard partnering with the school district to meet and exceed the needs of all students - direct entry into the workforce, two year technical school, and four year college/ university - to be career ready and prepared for success in life.
