On Dec. 2, 6-10pm, the Sheboygan Visual Artists invite you to the opening night of the Wonderland Holiday Fine Art Show and Sale at EBCO Artworks, 1201 Erie Ave, Sheboygan, WI.

Come enjoy complementary appetizers and holiday refreshments including a selection of beers and wine. Talk to local artists and explore gifting possibilities and personal art indulgences.

The fully-decked gallery will feature trees covered in small works, jewelry, fused glass and hand painted ornaments for sale.

Watercolor Artist, Evelyn Grasse has been painting ornaments for nearly 30 years and does approximately 60 ornaments a year with twenty being special orders. Many people collect her ornaments or have started collections for their families.

This year’s more intimate show includes a full palette of hanging art, including watercolors, mixed media, encaustics, oil, and digital and traditional photography. Offerings also include jewelry, glass, driftwood sculpture, and prints.

For those unable to make the opening night, or just hoping to avoid the crowds the holiday show will be open daily thru Dec. 21.

Last minute shoppers will find gallery doors open Saturdays and Sundays 11-3 p.m., Mon.-Thurs 1-5 p.m. and Fridays 1-7 p.m., repeating thru Dec. 21.

“This is something new for SVA,” said Peg Haubert, SVA Volunteer Marketing/Communications Director, “Typically, the gallery is open three weekends after each new show but we are trying out daily open hours in the hope of getting more visitors willing to consider local handmade art for gifting or self-keeping this holiday season.”

Shoppers are reminded to come back often to find sold pieces replaced with new items.

Veteran member Margaret Hall stated, “SVA is proud to invite holiday shoppers to obtain pieces of original artwork.”

Also on Dec. 2, there will be a silent auction fundraiser to benefit the SVA Scholarship Fund

There will be a variety of Silent Auction items — from Door County Waterbury Inn accommodations to gift certificates from local restaurants and stores that generously support arts in Sheboygan.

Somewhat typical of the gift baskets in the Scholarship Fundraiser Silent Auction are these two: Stay at home movie night: popcorn, candy, and a coupon for Family Video, plus “Evie’s Art Lovers Basket” created and donated by Evelyn Grasse and “Art Supplies Basket” donated by Lakeshore Art Supplies, LLC1108 N 8th St Sheboygan.

There will also be 1 or 2 baskets with vouchers for the SVA February 24, Final Friday “Art- Wine-Pairing” and unlimited Small Works Tickets.
