Resorters win overtime battle in BEC opener

The game was the Big East Conference opener for both teams. The Resorters evened their record at 1-1 and the Rams slipped to 0-2.

Aryka Klemme’s two free throws with 23 seconds left in overtime gave Elkhart a 52-49 lead. Mandy McLaughlin sank a pair of free throws with eight seconds remaining which iced the win.

“Both teams played hard. It was a hard-fought battle,” said Resorter head coach Donny Kulow.

“We made good decisions [with the ball] and had better shot selection down the stretch. We had kids step up at different times. I was proud of the kids’ effort.”

Junior Alicia Hartmann led the Rams’ attack with 19 points.

Random Lake had 25 turnovers to 16 for EL-G.

EL-G won the junior varsity game, 37-35. No further information was submitted.
