Papers available for candidates

Candidates wishing to serve on the Plymouth School District Board of Education now can pick up the necessary registration papers.

Terms are for three years. Two seats will be on the ballot in the spring:

• Area A, a resident of the city of Plymouth (incumbent is Jamie Gambrell)

• Area B, a resident outside the city of Plymouth (incumbent is Sally Isely)

Under state law, candidates for school board must be U.S. citizens, 18 years of age or older, who have lived in the district for at least 10 days before an election.

Forms can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the district office, located in Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave. Forms must be filed in the district office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.

The general election will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017. If more than two candidates run for any of the seats, a primary election will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017.
