Panthers cruise, stay unbeaten in ECC

WINNECONNE – The Plymouth Panthers raised their East Central Conference dual wrestling record to 2-0 (2-0 overall) with a 60-22 thumping of Winneconne here Thursday night.

PHS earned four pins and won six matches by forfeit which accounted for its team points. The Panthers’ pins came from Josh Koll at 138 pounds; Ben Meyer, 152; Erik Ohman, 170; and Jesse Schwarten at 220. Koll had the fastest pin in the meet at only 52 seconds.

“We are continuing to take steps in the right direction. Overall, it was a great team win. Even though Winneconne didn’t have a full team they fought hard and our guys rose to the challenge,” said Panther head coach Ben Chapman.

“Jesse Schwarten had a great match that he capped off with a pin. He is one of the most explosive guys on our team and it is always exciting to watch him wrestle.”
