Panthers second in triangular meet

KIEL – Plymouth finished second in a boys swimming and diving triangular meet here Tuesday night.

The Panthers scored 116 points, with West Bend East/West taking first with 156. West Bend won nine of the 12 events. Kiel placed third with 53 points.

Plymouth’s first-place finishers included Ben Schaefers in the 200- yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 57.65 seconds; Charlie Aschenbach in diving with a score of 153.15 points; and Harrison Strutz in the 100 backstroke in 1:00.28.

“Our first regular [dual/triangular] meet of the season was a great success. West Bend is a co-op team of their two high schools which makes them one of the largest Division 1 programs in the state,” said Panther head coach Clare Sedlacek.

“All three A relays finished strong a second to West Bend and had some good times for this point in the season.”

East won the junior varsity meet with 126 points, followed by PHS with 112 and Kiel, 43. The Panthers’ winners were Christian Pieper in the 200 freestyle; Davis Dejus, 100 freestyle; and the 200 freestyle relay team of Jeremy Martin, Ethan Lilyquist, Andrea Roncatti and Noah Scudella.

“Our JV swimmers, with a lot of new people, performed extremely well,” said Sedlacek.
