Katsma receives WMC award

State Rep. Terry Katsma, R–Oostburg, has been recognized with the prestigious Working for Wisconsin Award from Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce.

During the 2015-16 legislative session, Katsma voted 100 percent of the time to support a business-friendly environment in Wisconsin and keep up the state’s strong economic growth.

“Wisconsin’s economy has really turned things around in the past few years,” said Katsma. “But there is still plenty of work to be done to get government out of the way of job creation.

“I’m eager to work on more new ideas in the upcoming legislative session that will encourage new growth, keep putting people to work and ensure that the future workforce will be ready to sustain our economy down the road,” he said.

Katsma was presented with the Working for Wisconsin Award at the headquarters of the Sheboygan Paint Co., a local family-owned business that has been a cornerstone of Sheboygan’s economy since 1921 and now conducts operations across the country.

“The story of the Sheboygan Paint Company is a great example of what the people of Wisconsin can achieve,” said Katsma. “I’m proud to see this business continuing to thrive after so many years.”

Katsma represents the 26th Assembly District including the cities of Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls; the villages of Adell, Oostburg, Random Lake and Cedar Grove and the towns of Lima, Holland, Sherman and Wilson.
