LORRAINE LAACK

Lorraine (nee Paasch) Laack, age 86, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday (December 17, 2016) at Sharon S. Richardson after a short yet valiant battle with esophageal cancer, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on 1930

Sheboygan, WI, to the late Peter and Erma (Zastrow) Paasch.

Lorraine graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1948.

On August 26, 1950 she married Harold H. “Happy” Laack in Sheboygan. The couple resided in the Town of Plymouth since their marriage. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2006.

She was an active member of Salem Plankroad United Church of Christ and served as a member of the consistory.

Lorraine’s main love was her family, her home, but she also worked for many years in the banking industry as a teller with Citizens State Bank, Norwest, and retired from Wells Fargo in 1992. She also worked alongside Happy with his involvement with the Eastern Wisconsin Stock Car Association and the Sheboygan County Fair Board.

She was a charter member of the Plymouth Snow Rangers and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #5612. She also thoroughly enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling, plants, helping the elderly and playing cards at Generations and her “Country Card Club”.

Lorraine is survived by her three sons: John (Susan) Laack of Plymouth, Gary (Patricia) Laack of Townsend, Steve (Tammy) Laack of Sheboygan; Eight grandchildren: Bradley Laack (special friend: Katie Reineking) and Rebecca Laack both of Plymouth, Amy (Jeremy) Bardon of Darboy, Kelly (Eric) Cruz of Howards Grove, Lisa (Nathan) Nelson of Appleton, Sarah (Christopher) Baker of SE Asia, Brian (Michelle) Laack of New Lenox, IL, and Dr. Jonathan (Carissa) Laack of St. Joseph, MI; Nine great-grandchildren: Jared, Jenna, Grace, Bennett, Connor, Kendall, Ellie, Haeden, and Keegan; One sister: Glendoris Ulmer of Beaver Dam; and one sister-in-law: Shirley Jacoby of Sheboygan Falls.

She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Happy; Brothersin laws: Leon Mazur, Erwin Ulmer and Clement Jacoby.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (December 23, 2016) at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Plankroad United Church of Christ. Rev. Cheryl Lepak, Pastor of the church will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.

Visitation will take place at the church on Friday (Dec. 23) from 12:00 Noon until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Lorraine’s name.

Though we grieve and will miss her greatly this Holiday season, we rejoice in the realization that she will be spending her first Christmas in Heaven. Now we can see that she really beat cancer - no more tears, no more pain!
