WILLARD C. MATZDORFF

Willard C. Matzdorff, age 87, of Prairie Crossing, Sheboygan Falls, WI, passed away early Wednesday morning (Dec. 21, 2016) from complications of a head injury following a fall.

He was born on August 21, 1929 in the Town of Rhine, a son of the late William F. and Gustie Henning Matzdorff.

He attended Victory Grade School in the Town of Rhine and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1947.

On September 13, 1952, he married Lucille H. Schroeder. After their marriage they lived in the Town of Greenbush for 23 years, moving to Plymouth in 1975. The couple resided at Salem Green apartments in Plymouth for 15 years.

He was employed at Toro, formerly Lawn-Boy, Gilson Bros and R. H. Versch for 38 years. He was a member of Toro Quarter Century Club

He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth and a past member of the Town of Greenbush and the City of Plymouth Volunteer Fire Departments.

Willard enjoyed playing cards, traveling, snowmobiling and camping in Wisconsin with his children and grandchildren and also was computer literate.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years: Lucille of Sheboygan Falls; One son: Arthur (Wanda) Matzdorf of St. Germain, WI; Two daughters: Gail Matzdorf of Plymouth, Carol Flanigan of Eau Claire, WI; Two grandsons: Jerry Matzdorf (Special Companion: Angie Paape and her son Sawyer) all of Plymouth, Kevin Matzdorf of Menomonie, WI; One Great Granddaughter: Alison; Five sisters-in-law: Bernice Matzdorf of Sheboygan, Marion Case of Green Bay, Dorothy Levsen of the Town of Plymouth, Alice Kimme of the Town of Herman, Betty (Lester) Kracht of the Town of Greenbush; Good friends for over 50 years: Norman and Judy Boeldt of Howards Grove.

He was also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: John and George Matzdorf; Two sisters: Loraine Klemme and Lucile Brandt; Sister-in-law: Margaret Matzdorf; Two brothers-in-law: Anthony Levsen and Eugene Kimme.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 14, 2017) at 1:00 P.M. at Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth. Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of the church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Willard’s name for Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth.
