SHIRLEY L. JACOBY

Shirley L. Jacoby, age 87, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away late Tuesday Evening (Dec. 20, 2016) at Rocky Knoll.

She was born in Sheboygan on May 25, 1929, daughter of the late Henry and Pauline (Kurz) Laack.

Shirley graduated from Plymouth High School in 1947.

On January 28, 1950 she married Clement N. Jacoby in Sheboygan Falls. The couple ran the family farm together for many years. In addition to helping on the farm, she also helped him with his treasuring duties for the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Clement preceded her in death on August 15, 1998.

Shirley helped prepare food for many years at Laack’s Hall in Johnsonville for many weddings and banquets.

She was a member of Saron United Church of Christ and played with the women’s dartball group.

She was an avid league bowler at Anchor Lanes. She also enjoyed casino bus trips, gardening, reading, and knitting and crocheting (especially afghans for her grandchildren).

Survivors include: Two Sons: Robert Jacoby of Sheboygan Falls and James “Jocko” (Lora) Jacoby of Plymouth; One Daughter: Karen (Donald) Ruh of the Town of Rhine; Three Grandchildren: Gregory (Special Friend: Leah) and Nathan (Kay) Ruh, and Kimberly (Cliff) Annis; Three Step-Grandchildren: Sarah (Adam) Lovinggood, and Rachel and Hannah Rendall; Eight Great-Grandchildren: Jared, Maverick, Maggie, Spencer, Hunter, Parker, Selena, and Caleb; Four Step- Great-Grandchildren: Bethany, Tiffany, Juniper, and Oren; and One Sister-in-law: Germaine Jacoby of Sheboygan.

She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother: Happy (Lorraine) Laack, and brother-in-law: Jacob “Jake” Jacoby.

Funeral services were held Monday December 26, 2016 at Saron United Church of Christ in the Town of Sheboygan. Rev. Ernest Huntzinger, Pastor of the Church will officiate.

Entombment will be in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Shirley’s name for Saron United Church of Christ.
