The Benefit Companies donate to FRC

The Benefit Companies of Plymouth donated to the Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County holiday support efforts recently with proceeds they raised by selling authentic egg rolls on the night of A Charming Downtown Christmas last month. Presenting the donation to Julia Hart (third from left) and Luann Travis (second from right) of the FRC are (left to right) Tom Bartz, Linda Hang, Kristi Burgard and Jerry Matzdorf of The Benefit Companies. The Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County was able to provide holiday support to identified families in need who voluntarily participate in the Parents as Teachers parenting program. Families in Parents as Teachers receive home visits from a parent educator because they want to learn more about their child’s development and their own parenting strengths. The majority of families who receive holiday support are struggling with poverty or low income. As a result, the holidays are difficult. Beginning the Monday after Thanksgiving, beautiful and much needed gifts begin to pour into the FRC office. Shortly before Christmas, Parent Educators deliver the gifts to recipients.
