Stecker leads Eagles to BEC win over Resorters

SHEBOYGAN – Senior Jacob Stecker hit 18 points to lead a balanced Sheboygan Christian attack as the Eagles cruised to a 68-25 boys basketball win over the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeuah Resorters here Saturday night.

The Eagles improved to 5-2 in the Big East Conference (7-3 overall). The Resorters fell to 1-7 in the BEC (2-9 overall).

Also scoring in double figures for the Eagles were Will Balint with 14, Brayden Van Ess, 13 and Levi Modahl, 12. Balint buried a teamhigh four three-pointers and Christian had eight overall.

Senior guard Caleb Broaddus led Elkhart in scoring with 14. Anthony Klahn pulled down a team-high five rebounds.

Van Ess paced the Eagles in assists with five. Christian had an impressive 17 steals, led by Stuart VerVelde, Luke Heinen and Van Ess with four each.

Heinen led the Eagles in boards with six. Christian dominated the boards with a 37-16 rebounding advantage.
