The Tigers, ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press Division 4 poll, upped their record to 16-1. The Falcons slipped to 7-8.

HG seized a 30-17 halftime lead, led by senior point guard Brittany Schaller and senior guard/forward Kaitlynn Near with seven points each. Olivia Stauss chipped in with six in the half.

Schaller finished the night with a game-high 15 points, fol- lowed by Stauss with 12 and Sam Yancy, 10.

Ashley Reinemann paced the Tigers in assists with five. Near led in steals with three. Yancy had a team-high two blocked shots and seven rebounds.

“The Falls match-up for us is always a good test. They are more physical than most of the teams we see in our conference and this team overall is much bigger than us,” said Tiger head coach Heidi Georgeff.

“I think offensively we just proved to be a little more balanced than them. By halftime we had five players with more than two points and they only had two. We made a good percentage of our shots as well, so that helped us maintain a lead throughout.”

The Tigers shot a solid 49 percent from the field.

“Defensively, we had more lapses than I would like. We gave up some offensive rebounds and didn’t close out well on their scorers. However, we still kept them well under their offensive average as a team,” said Georgeff.

Freshman guard/forward Myja Durn was the Falcons’ top scorer with 12.
