NORBERT MURPHY

Norbert “Jack” Murphy, 75, of Waldo passed away on Sunday morning, January 29, 2017 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.

Jack was born on February 19, 1941 in Sheboygan a son to John and Elizabeth (Dierringer) Murphy. He graduated from Waldo High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 until 1961, stationed on the USS Bache, an anti-submarine destroyer. He was in the area of the Bay of Pigs during that confrontation. On May 20, 1967 he was united in marriage to Mary Ryan in Adell. After 25 years of service with the Sheboygan County Highway Department he retired in 2001. Jack was an avid hunter and enjoyed working his farm of beef cattle and cash crops.

Jack is survived by his wife, Mary, three children, Shaun (Amy) Murphy of Sheboygan Falls, Erin (Matt) Gritt of Plymouth and Kerry (Brian) Voigt of Sheboygan Falls, five grandchildren, Heather (Andy) LaPoint of Fond du Lac, Sydnie Meyer of Plymouth, Gage Voigt, Logan Murphy and Conner Murphy all of Sheboygan Falls.; a brother, Patrick (Maria) Murphy of Potomac, Maryland; his sisters, Mary Stangler (special friend Adam) of Florida, Jean (Jim) Huiras of Random Lake; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Sara) Ryan of Grafton and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen Mueller of Green Bay, Sheila (Keith) Hobson of Albany, WI and Denise (Tom) Gearing of Black River Falls. Other family and friends also survive. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and mother and fatherin law, William and Olive Ryan.

A memorial service for Jack will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 4 at Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services with Jeannie Turicik as officiant. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Rose Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 123 South St, Plymouth on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of service at 1 PM.
