Cancer pillow project seeks help

The Pretty Good Eggs HCE Club is seeking donations to help fund materials for breast cancer pillows that will be distributed to breast cancer patients in Sheboygan County.

The club began making the breast cancer pillows five years ago, under the direction of Janet Breschke.

Kay Keyes has spearheaded the effort this year in partnership with Brenda Mauer of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.

Aurora Health Care has paid for the fabric and the Pretty Good Eggs HCE Club has funded the fiber fill, thread and other miscellaneous construction items. The club is now in need of additional donations to assist with making more pillows for those in the Sheboygan County area dealing with breast cancer.

Volunteers will gather Monday, Feb. 20 at the camo quilt headquarters in Plymouth for a work day of cutting, sewing, ironing, filling and packing the pillows.

During the most recent work day, the following people assisted with the project, DeWayne and Linda Wieck, Diane Zinkgraf, Sharon Zimmermann, Leah Zinkgraf, Janet Bieschke, Kay Keyes, Mary Ann Zuengler, Sharon Schuber, Ruth Voskuil, Bonnie Goll, Stacey Hibbard, Charyl Fillshe, Victoria Collard, Janice Curtiss, Ellynne Johnson, Nadeen Thompson, Kathy Doebert, Judy Wallner, Elaine Van Kooy, Kathy Payne, Deb Klock, Mary Grafenstein and Joyce Kuhlow.

To assist or learn more about the project, call Kay at 912-3522.
