The pieces were in place as the Resorters came to town on a ninegame skid and they were playing their fifth game in 12 days. Turns out that EL-G looked like a finally tuned machine.

The Huskies played right with the Resorters for the first half, taking a pair of brief leads but a string of 11 straight points by EL-G to start the second half propelled them to a 62-50 win.

Balanced scoring was the key for the Resorters who improved to 4-16.

“When you have one girl with 15, another with 14, then 13 and 12, that’s a coach’s dream,” said veteran Elkhart head coach Donny Kulow.

“But I give head coach Kevin Meyer and New Holstein a lot of credit. Most teams would just quit when they go down by 20 and they roared back and made it a game.”

Ellie Ausloos led EL-G with the 15 points and Claire Feldmann hit 14. Camrie Schmitz, Ausloos and Kianna Bahr had a team-high five rebounds each.

Schmitz led Elkhart in assists with five. Ausloos led in steals with an impressive eight.

New Holstein had three players in double figures with Olivia Ondrejka scoring 13 while Mackenzie Doherty and Karli Schmitz added 11.

The Huskies, who were hurt by 25 turnovers, dropped to 0-21 on the season.

The JV 1 game was won by the Resorters, 29-4.
