Roots of religious extremism examined

Lakeland University Professor of Religion Karl Kuhn will discuss one of today’s hottest topics – religious extremism – as part of Lakeland’s next ThinkHaus presentation.

Kuhn’s talk, entitled “Understanding Religious Extremism,” is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Mead Public Library, 710 N 8th St., Sheboygan.

The event is free and open to all.

Kuhn will identify some common tendencies in labeling and discussion of religious extremism and point out the reality of extremism in nearly all major religions.

ThinkHaus is a community conversations series that features powerful, thought-provoking talks, no longer than 20 minutes, by experts on topics of interest to the community.

Following the talks, the speakers and community engage in discussion that results in new levels of understanding of the issues in question.
