William W. Bartlett, age 84, of the Town of Plymouth, passed away late Wednesday afternoon (February 22, 2017) at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born in the Town of Greenbush on March 4, 1932, son of the late Walter and Susan (Schmitz) Bartlett.

William attended grade schools in Greenbush. He served in the United States Army from January of 1953 to January of 1955.

On September 17, 1955, he married Rogene Joan Nyenhuis at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. The couple resided in Cedar Grove for a few years before returning to Greenbush. They also resided in the Town of Plymouth.

William farmed in the Town of Greenbush and the Town of Plymouth for over 20 years and later worked for Schmidt Builders and Shell Patterns for 7 years. He also served as the maintenance man at Hawthorne Woods Apartment Complex in Plymouth for many years.

He was a member of the “I Love to Dance Club” and loved dancing, gardening, and cracking hickory nuts.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 61 years: Rogene of Plymouth; Four children: Susan (Clint) Witt of Sheboygan Falls, Lori (Wes) Lyon of Chillicothe, MO, Stanley Bartlett of Glenbeulah, and Larry Bartlett of Hilbert; Ten grandchildren; Eleven great-grandchildren; Four sisters-in-law: Judy (LeRoy) Gruepink of Oostburg, Marilyn (Earl) Voskuil of Oostburg, Marita Fritz of St. Germain, WI, and Eva Jean Bartlett of Sheboygan.

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

William was preceded in death by: His parents, Two brothers: Raymond and Clarence; and Sister: Beatrice.

Following William’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Inurnment will be in the Greenbush Cemetery. The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post 5612 will conduct military rites at the cemetery.

A memorial fund is being established in William’s name.
