Chamber director to create coaching service

Sheboygan County Chamber Community Relations Director Bill Marklein is leaving the chamber of commerce to launch his Emotional Intelligence training and consulting business Employ Humanity LLC.

Marklein, who has been in his role since September 2010, directed public relations for the chamber of commerce including major partnerships with Destination Kohler for the 2012 US Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run and the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

“I feel extremely fortunate to have worked with so many amazing people in this role,” said Marklein. “I look forward to my next chapter inspiring Emotional Intelligence in humans and the workplace to transform organizational cultures for the betterment of humanity. With the rapid acceleration of technology, change and stress, the ability to effectively manage our own emotions and the emotions around us will be critical for progress, especially with our incoming workforce. There is a huge need for people skills and human connection in the workplace.” Emotional Intelligence is closely linked to leadership, mental health, employee attraction and engagement and workplace culture. His primary research in graduate school was on Emotional Intelligence where he earned a Master’s degree in corporate communication from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
