Fire leaves family homeless

A rural Plymouth family was left homeless after a fire Sunday afternoon damaged their home.

A cellular 911 call was received by the Sheboygan County Emergency Dispatch Center Sunday at 1:37 p.m. reporting a house fire at W6390 Aurora Rd. in the town of Plymouth. The homeowner believed the fire began in the basement area of the single family home.

Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department deputies, along with Plymouth Fire Department, which requested assistance from the Elkhart Lake, Johnsonville, Greenbush, Cascade, Town of Sheboygan Falls, Glenbeulah, Kohler, Oostburg, Cedar Grove, Waldo and Kohler fire departments. The American Red Cross was asked to respond to assist the occupants of the home.

The Town of Plymouth Fire Department, along with the Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Team, continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
