PHS boys start track season
OSHKOSH – The Plymouth boys track team started its 2017 indoor track season on a positive note in Tuesday’s Oshkosh Invitational large-school meet at the Kolf Center.
“This is a always a good early test for our track and field team as we compete against some very strong teams,” said Panther head coach Jay Grosshuesch.
“We performed quite well as lots of our athletes started out with efforts that were close to where they ended the season last year. We just need to keep working hard and continue to improve.”
Junior Mack Mella led the Panthers with a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.19 seconds. Mella scored two team points which were the only points scored by PHS.
Stevens Point won the meet with 83.5 points and Green Bay Preble was second with 79.
The PHS boys will compete in the Sheboygan North Invitational Saturday at 9 a.m. The PHS girls will open their season March 17 in the Sheboygan North Invitational at 4 p.m.
