Learning from Alice

The fourth grade students at Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah had an exciting and educational visit from Alice in Dairyland. Ann O’ Leary, the 69th Alice in Dairyland, taught students about Wisconsin’s agriculture and economy. She engaged students with an interactive presentation about how cows impact our state’s economy and discussed all of the products that are farmed in Wisconsin. Students learned that Wisconsin is the #1 producer of cheddar cheese, green beans and cranberries. Students also learned about the five food groups and the role of nutrients to keep our bodies healthy. She brought along samples of cheddar cheese for each of the students to try. Alice left students with a signed postcard and a trivia game, “Mapping Out a Healthy Wisconsin.” The fourth grade students at Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah had an exciting and educational visit from Alice in Dairyland.
