The Panthers raised their East Central Conference record to 2-0 (3-1-1 overall). The Indians fell to 0-2 in the ECC (0-4 overall).

Gosse scored the first three goals of the game, all in the first 13 minutes. Carly Lilek’s goal gave PHS a 4-0 halftime lead.

Gosse added two more goals in the second half. Contributing one goal each in the half were Sydney Robinson, Tatum Eigenberger and Jayda Martell. Eigenberger’s goal was her first in varsity play.

Robinson, a junior striker, led PHS in assists with an impressive four. Lilek, Ellie Welsch, Hailey Stewart and Kaitlyn Luedtke had one assists each.

The Panthers led by an incredible 25-0 lead in shots on goal. Berlin’s goalies Shelby Williams and Stephanie Tetzke combined for 16 saves.

“We wanted to take control of the game early and we did that. We came out aggressively but were focused, playing within our game plan,” said Panther head coach Brad Feick.

“While we were able to develop a lot of scoring opportunities and outshot Berlin, I was pleased to see where our opportunities came from. They weren’t just balls sent through the middle but rather worked through a sequence of possession.

“I felt we we rotated well within the midfield and adjusted very well in possession, defensively. We emphasized creating angles and spacing and our backs did that,” said Feick.
