Sybil Betty Anna Winter, age 90, formerly of Waldo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (April 18, 2017) at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center in Plymouth, where she had been a resident for the past two and a half years.

She was born on November 18, 1926 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Winter.

Sybil graduated from Wauwatosa High School. She was raised on the Bluemound Golf Course and could break 90 by the time she turned 18 years of age. She learned how to skate on the Menomonee River and went on to skate in the Holiday on Ice show from 1945-1949. She was a charter member of the Wauwatosa Figure Skating Club.

Sybil graduated from Marquette University – School of Dental Hygiene and she made her home in Milwaukee, where she worked at Wood Veteran’s Hospital for 26 and a half years and later worked for two dentists in Sheboygan Falls for several years.

Sybil later purchased property in the Town of Lyndon and planted many varieties of pine trees and built meditation paths on her property along the Onion River.

She was a former member of Wauwatosa Trinity Episcopal Church and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Plymouth, and was a current member of Unity Church in Sheboygan.

Sybil also belonged to the Loyalty Chapter OES and the Dental Hygiene Association.

She has practiced the art of Tai Chi for many years, and since moving to Waldo has been a teacher of Tai Chi at the Plymouth Senior Center and Valley Manor Nursing Home (which is now the Atrium). She also started a Senior Ice Skating Club at Blue Line Ice Center in Sheboygan as well as seven other cities.

She is survived by Tom (Debbie) Winter of Tennessee, as well as many dear friends.

Following Sybil’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday (May 17, 2017) at 6:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Ginny Stuve, Minister of Unity Church in Sheboygan, will officiate.

Visitation will take place at the Suchon Funeral Home on Wednesday (May 17) from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services.

Inurnment will be next to her parents at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, WI.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Sybil’s name for the Intergenerational Center in Plymouth (Generations).
