Vaccination work praised

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and Sheboygan County Health and Human Services Division of Public Health are pleased to announce that the staff from Plymouth Family Physicians, Aurora Sheboygan Clinic Howards Grove, and Aurora Sheboygan Clinic Kiel have just been named a “BigShot” for their efforts to vaccinate children against diseases. The recognition is given to health care providers who vaccinate 90 per cent or more of their young patients based on immunization data collected by DHS.

“Childhood vaccinations are critical to protect our children and everyone around them from diseases like measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, and cancer among others,” said Karen McKeown, State Health Officer. “We are pleased to recognize these organizations for their diligence in keeping our children healthy.”

“We are happy to have our staff recognized for this extraordinary effort and accomplishment. This is a daily process involving everyone on our staff from the front desk to the lab and the medical assistants and it is not limited to the children in our practice – every adult seen here is advised at every visit of needed immunizations. Education for parents in the use of the Wisconsin Immunization Program webpage has similarly been a priority,” commented Drs. Arenberg and Schroeder of Plymouth Family Physicians.
